Step-by-step guide

To identify yourself, you need to go through 4 stages:

1. Registration
2. Take a selfie
3. Scanning your ID
4. Review by an agent

Important: make sure you have your identity papers with you, a good internet connection and good ambient lighting.

Step 1: Register

The app scans your face via Face ID to register.

Step 2: Take a selfie

Taking a selfie constitutes of 3 mini steps: taking a face closeup, head rotation, and smiling.

Step 3: Scan your identity document

Several types of identity document are accepted: the identity card, the biometric passport (with an electronic chip) and the non-biometric passport.

Using identity card

If you chose identity card as your document for identification, you will be asked to scan the front and the back of the cards while rotating it in order to scan the security features (hologram).

If you chose passport as your document for identification, you will be asked to scan the photo page, rotate it in order to scan the security features and then scan your passport’s NFC chip.

NFC chip scanning for iOS (iPhone)

There are two possibilities:

• If you see the ‘Chip Reader’ page, click on ‘Open App Clip’.
• If you see the ‘Install App’, press the ‘Open’ button in the top right-hand corner to open the chip reader.

Then place your phone on your passport to scan it.
